Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Dashti & Associates (“we”, “our”, or “the firm”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use our website and our associated mobile applications distributed through Google Play and other application stores.

1. Introduction

Dashti & Associates is a law practice operating from Advocates Building, Turbat, 92600, Balochistan, Pakistan. This Privacy Policy applies to (i) our website at this domain, and (ii) any mobile or desktop application we publish under the “Dashti & Associates” name, including applications distributed through Google Play.

By using our website or applications, you agree to the practices described in this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide Directly

  • Contact Information: name, email address, telephone number, and postal address when submitted through our contact form.
  • Inquiry Content: the description of your matter you submit through inquiry forms or in-app messages.
  • Account Information (where applicable): username, password (stored hashed), and profile preferences if our application offers account creation.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Device Information: device model, operating system version, unique device identifiers, language, and time zone.
  • Usage Information: screens viewed, features used, in-app actions, session duration, crash reports, and diagnostic data.
  • Network Information: IP address, mobile network information, and general (city-level) location derived from IP address.
  • Cookies and similar technologies on our website, used to maintain sessions and analyse traffic.

2.3 Permissions-Based Information (Mobile Apps)

The following categories are collected only if you grant the relevant permission and use the related feature:

  • Camera / Photos: to upload documents to a matter file. Images are uploaded only on your action.
  • Files / Storage: to attach documents you select.
  • Microphone: only if you initiate an audio call or voice note within the app.
  • Notifications: to inform you of replies to inquiries and consultation updates.

We do not collect precise location, contacts, SMS, call logs, health data, or biometric data.

3. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Respond to inquiries and provide legal consultation services.
  • Maintain, secure, and improve our website and applications.
  • Diagnose technical problems and prevent fraud or abuse.
  • Communicate service-related notifications.
  • Comply with applicable laws and lawful requests from authorities.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use personal information for advertising or behavioural profiling.

4. Data Sharing & Disclosure

We share personal information only in the limited circumstances below:

  • Service Providers: reputable hosting, email delivery, analytics, and crash-reporting providers acting under written confidentiality and data-processing terms.
  • Legal Obligations: when required by a valid order of a court, tribunal, or government authority of competent jurisdiction.
  • Protection of Rights: to enforce our terms, defend legal claims, or protect the rights, property, or safety of any person.
  • With Your Consent: for any purpose disclosed to you at the time of collection.

5. Data Security

We use industry-accepted safeguards to protect personal information, including encryption in transit (TLS/HTTPS), access controls, secure password storage, and regular review of our hosting environment. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes outlined in this Policy and to meet our legal, accounting, or professional reporting obligations under Pakistani law and the rules of the Pakistan Bar Council. Inquiry submissions are retained for up to 24 months unless they form part of an engaged matter, in which case standard file-retention rules apply.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate information.
  • Request deletion of your personal information.
  • Withdraw consent for processing that is based on consent.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.
  • Lodge a complaint with a competent data-protection authority.

To exercise these rights, contact us using the details in Section 14. We will respond within 30 days.

8. Children's Privacy

Our services are intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly. Parents or guardians who believe a child has provided personal information may contact us for immediate removal.

9. Permissions on Mobile Applications

Our mobile applications request permissions only as necessary for specific features. Each permission can be granted or revoked at any time through your device's settings. The table below describes the typical permissions and their purpose:

  • INTERNET: required for all network features.
  • CAMERA: optional — document capture only.
  • READ_MEDIA_IMAGES / READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE: optional — selecting documents.
  • POST_NOTIFICATIONS: optional — service updates.
  • RECORD_AUDIO: optional — only during initiated voice calls.

10. Account & Data Deletion

In line with Google Play Data Deletion requirements, you may request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time. To request deletion:

  • Within the app: go to Settings → Account → Delete Account, or
  • By email: send a deletion request to the address listed in Section 14, from the email address associated with your account.

Upon a verified request, we will delete your account information and associated personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for the establishment, exercise, or defence of legal claims. Backup copies are purged within an additional 60 days as part of our routine backup-rotation cycle.

11. Third-Party Services

Our applications may use the following third-party services. Each operates under its own privacy policy:

  • Google Play Services (Google LLC) — required platform components.
  • Firebase Crashlytics / Analytics (Google LLC) — crash and diagnostic reporting.
  • Email delivery providers — for transactional communications.

We do not share personal information with these providers beyond what is necessary for their service.

12. International Data Transfers

Personal data we collect may be processed in countries other than the country in which it was collected, including jurisdictions where our service providers operate. Where personal data is transferred outside Pakistan, we take reasonable steps to ensure the data receives a comparable level of protection through contractual safeguards.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through our website, and where appropriate, through an in-app notice. The “Last Updated” date at the top of this Policy indicates when it was last revised. Continued use of our services after the effective date of the updated Policy constitutes acceptance of the changes.
